The challenge
Motor claims involve drivers, policyholders, fleets, brokers, insurers, assessors and a long tail of service providers — and almost none of them share a system. Incidents are reported hours or days late, first notification of loss arrives incomplete, the same facts are re-captured by call centres, brokers, assessors and repairers, and coordination happens over untracked phone calls and email. Nobody can see where a claim actually stands, and towing, assessment and repair are dispatched by hand under time pressure.
Product strategy
Fragmentation, not any single system, is the problem — so the answer is a coordination layer rather than another platform to replace. ClaimBeacon captures structured data once at the source, routes it to every party who needs it, and synchronises with the policy administration and claims systems insurers already run. Two ideas carry the model: every incident opens a live war room, and an AI layer assembles the claim from that conversation as it unfolds — always as a draft a broker or handler reviews, edits and approves.
User experience
The mobile app is designed for someone at the roadside under stress: a guided flow that puts safety first, records location automatically, matches driver, vehicle and policy without re-keying anything, and collects photographs, statements and voice notes into one evidence pack. From that first report a war room opens — a single live thread where the driver, policyholder, broker, insurer, assessor and responder work off the same timeline, with guest access by SMS or email for anyone without an account. Insurers, brokers, fleet operators and service providers each get a role-appropriate portal view with the dashboards, workflow and reporting their job needs, and nothing outside it.
Technology solution
Four layers built as one product. A native mobile application for drivers and policyholders; a multi-role web portal for insurers, brokers, fleets and providers; an integration layer providing API connectivity and data synchronisation into existing claims systems; and a marketplace layer that routes tow, panel, mechanical, glass, assessment, storage and roadside jobs across imported insurer networks. The AI layer handles silent claim drafting, drafted communications, damage classification from incident photos and voice statement transcription — governed by no auto-send, configurable approval thresholds, an enforced authority matrix and an audit log covering every draft, edit, approval and send.
Outcome
ClaimBeacon delivers a single authoritative incident record that exists from the first report and is enriched as the claim progresses — replacing repeated re-capture with one shared source across the whole ecosystem, and giving insurers and brokers a coordination layer that fits alongside the systems they already run rather than forcing a migration.
