Who we are
Redcom Technologies is a South African software engineering company. This notice explains what personal information this website collects, why we collect it and what we do with it. It is written in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
We only collect what you type into one of the forms on this site: the contact form, the book-a-call form, the project brief in Get a Quote, and the Field Notes email signup.
Depending on the form, that can include your name, email address, organisation, phone number, the details of the project you describe and your preferred time for a call. We do not ask for identity numbers, payment details or any special category of personal information.
Why we collect it
We use your details for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if it goes further, to discuss and scope the work with you. Email addresses given to Field Notes are used only to send that publication when it launches.
Who sees it
Form submissions are delivered by email to the Redcom team at Info@redcomgroup.com and are read by the people who would work on your project. We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for marketing.
The email delivery service that carries the message processes it on our behalf under its own security obligations. Beyond that, your information stays with Redcom.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as they remain commercially relevant — typically while a conversation or project is active, and for a reasonable period afterwards for record-keeping. We delete information that no longer serves a purpose.
Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email Info@redcomgroup.com and we will action the request. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa.
Direct marketing (Field Notes)
The Field Notes signup is the only direct-marketing use of your email address, and we only add you to it if you tick the consent box on that form. We send Field Notes and nothing else — no third-party offers and no shared lists.
You can withdraw that consent at any time by replying to any Field Notes email or writing to Info@redcomgroup.com, and we will remove your address. Withdrawing consent does not affect any other conversation you have with us.
Cookies
This site uses only cookies and local browser storage that are strictly necessary for it to work — for example remembering that you have seen the cookie notice, and the security token that protects form submissions against cross-site abuse.
There are no advertising cookies, no analytics cookies, no social media pixels, no profiling and no cross-site tracking on this website. Because nothing beyond the strictly necessary is set, there is no tracking to opt in or out of. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives the request for the font file itself.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary storage may stop the forms on this site from submitting.
Sending information outside South Africa
The email service that delivers your form submission to us, and the hosting that serves this website, may process the message on servers outside South Africa. Section 72 of POPIA permits this where the recipient is bound by comparable data-protection obligations, which is the basis on which we use these providers.
Children
This website is aimed at organisations and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are under 18, please do not submit a form without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
The site is served over encrypted connections and form submissions are validated and rate-limited against automated abuse. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect what you send us.
Information Officer and complaints
POPIA requires every organisation to have an Information Officer. Ours can be reached at Info@redcomgroup.com, marked for the attention of the Information Officer. Requests to access, correct or delete your information should be sent there and we will respond within a reasonable time.
If you are not satisfied with how we handled your request, you may complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa at enquiries@inforegulator.org.za.
Changes and contact
We may update this notice as the site changes. The date at the top reflects the current version. Questions about privacy can be sent to Info@redcomgroup.com.
